One of the new products exhibited at the International Airport Ground Support Expo in Las Vegas was the EZ Rig Crane. Most recently, the EZ Rig Crane had been a product in the construction trades, but due to its ability to lift heavy objects out of tight spaces, companies like Sharp Technics Aviation in SouthKorea and Flagler County in Florida have found it handy to have this mini crane in their hangars. The mobile mini crane can be used to lift/remove: Emergency Exit Doors, Passenger Doors, Windows, Propellers, Wing Lifts and more, all while being able to leave the plane in the hanger.
Sharp Technics already had a larger crane but found that they had to keep moving the airplanes out of the hangar to perform routine repairs. With the EZ Rig Crane, they could simply roll the mobile unit up to the plane and with a spreader bar attached, easily remove the engine cowling with minimum manpower.
