SyberJet Unveils SJ36 at SyberJet World With Letters of Intent for More Than 50 Jets

The single-pilot light jet, designed to reach Mach 0.88 and fly 3,000 nautical miles nonstop, is on display at NBAA-BACE through October 22

SyberJet Aircraft officially unveiled the SJ36 at SyberJet World on Monday, October 19, at Henderson Executive Airport, and announced that it has received letters of intent (LOIs) for more than 50 aircraft.

The unveiling drew customers, operators and industry guests from around the world for their first look at the full-scale SJ36 mockup and working SyberVision avionics panels. The LOIs come from across business aviation, including charter operators, corporate flight departments and private owners, with several customers reserving multiple aircraft. What is drawing them is the airplane itself. The SJ36 is designed to be the fastest and farthest-flying light jet ever built, with a projected maximum speed of Mach 0.88, a range of up to 3,000 nautical miles and a 49,000-foot ceiling.

Midsize-Jet Performance, Light-Jet Economics

That performance puts the SJ36 in midsize-jet territory while keeping light-jet economics. It is designed to fly nonstop routes no other light jet can, potentially including Los Angeles to Hawaii and Teterboro to Los Angeles, saving up to two hours each way on coast-to-coast trips compared with other light jets. The cabin seats up to eight passengers and holds sea-level cabin pressure up to 41,000 feet. Charter rates could drop by up to 50% compared to midsize jets, putting pressure on midsize operators to add the SJ36 to their fleets or risk losing that market.

“SyberJet World was the first time our customers could walk up to the SJ36 and see what they have committed to, and the response was incredible. More than 50 commitments tells us the market has been waiting for innovation. Light jet buyers have always had to choose between speed, range and cost. The SJ36 lets them have all three. We are only on day one, imagine where we will be in a few months with orders,” said Trevor Milton, CEO of SyberJet Aircraft.

Flown by SyberVision

The SJ36 incorporates SyberVision, SyberJet’s proprietary avionics platform: a full glass-cockpit architecture with secure over-the-air updates and smartphone connectivity. Owners will be able to set the cabin climate remotely, and SyberJet will be able to monitor and support the aircraft through remote maintenance. Combined with a zero-emission APU, these features are designed to deliver an ownership experience business aviation has not seen before.
